What’s Happening?
Cybercriminals are distributing a malicious copy of Ledger Live designed to steal recovery phrases and drain wallets. Victims who download this imposter app lose full access to their crypto within minutes.
How the Scam Works
-
Fake Ads & Search Results: Scammers promote the fraudulent app through Google/Facebook ads mimicking Ledger’s branding.
-
Phony Updates: Users receive prompts to “upgrade” to a compromised version.
-
Seed Phrase Theft: The app requests your 24-word recovery phrase—a NEVER legitimate action—then sends it to hackers.
Pro Tip:
Always triple-check URLs—scammers use domains like Ledger-live[.]net or Ledgerupdate[.]com. Stay vigilant!(Like/Save to protect others! 💙)

How to Stay Safe
✔ ONLY download Ledger Live from Ledger.com (bookmark it!)
✔ Never enter your seed phrase digitally (Ledger will NEVER ask for it)
✔ Disable “blind signing” in settings to prevent unauthorized transactions.
✔ Use a hardware wallet for large holdings (software alone is riskier).
If You’re Affected
-
Disconnect your device from the internet immediately.
-
Transfer funds to a new wallet (with a new seed phrase).
-
Report the scam to Ledger’s support and local cybercrime units.
